Yet another BlueTraker Arctic terminals milestone

Named after a Russian polar explorer participating in a geological expedition to Spitsbergen in 1912, Rudolf Samoylovich is a second ice-class LNG vessel provided by charterer Teekay to the Yamal LNG project. 172,000 cubic metres vessel was handed over almost three months earlier than anticipated.

It is yet another specialized vessel for traversing the Arctic Circle equipped with BlueTraker LRIT Arctic and SSAS Arctic terminals. World’s only terminals for Arctic voyage are engineered for operation in the extreme cold up to -50°C.

298 meters long and 45.8 wide Natural Liquid Gas icebreaker transited the Northern Sea Route after its delivery from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering South Korea less than a month ago and is on it’s way to France, reports World Maritime News Portal.
