FuelTraker App is a Web-based fuel monitoring application for Fleet Management Operators interested in remote fuel usage monitoring. It provides the data from the vessels equipped with FuelTraker system and enables the fleet operator to closely surveil and monitor vessel fuel consumption as well as captain operating performance. It offers a historical view of vessel consumption and is compliant with MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) and SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan) regulations.Here are the key software Functionalities:

Telematic Data Aggregation Server (TDS)

Secure processing, storage, re-formatting and forwarding the collected vessel's data.
TDS processes data contextually and statistically, stores them in various databases, two of them being the SecondScreen and FuelTraker databases. The whole process seamlessly enables reliable and near real-time data delivery to any kind of Bluetraker or Third Party database, server or application.

TDS processes data contextually and statistically, to prepare data to be used for further analysis. The vessel data is available to national monitoring centres, customers to safely manage their fleets etc. The whole process seamlessly enables reliable and near real-time data delivery, which means getting information to the responsible people who need it, when they need it.

TDS receives position and other data, also generated alarms, from the BlueTraker terminals at sea. These data most frequently include vessel's position, speed, heading, sensor reading, etc. TDS is able to receive these data through Iridium satellite or GPRS communication channel.

Fast, secure and cost-effective remote updates

Updating BlueTraker terminal is fast, secure, convenient and cost-effective.

FOTA stands for ‘firmware-over-the-air’ and is a well-known concept. It’s the invisible technology behind Internet of Things and in particular smartphone and tablet updates and upgrades that we believe happen automagically. But the usability of FOTA is much wider.

The technology is integrated into every BlueTraker terminal and enables them to be remotely updated or upgraded without interruption of the terminal operation. It could, for example, fix a bug, provide system updates or put in place a new functionality or new features.

Changing requirements and new features

Speed, security, convenience, cost-effectiveness and responsiveness are major advantages of FOTA, but there is more.

Bugs and product behavior can be continuously improved even after the device is in the hands of your consumers. Knowing that products will stay functional as updates are released, updates are frequently deployed and are reliable. By adding new features and infrastructure to products after they are released the process augments scalability.

Over the air firmware upgrade functionality can update not only firmware but reconfigure on-chip hardware resources as well. Namely, the IoT is a growing and rapidly changing market with new product requirements where security threats and privacy breaches are some of the biggest factors driving these changes. The design cycle is usually very short and there is a need for constant innovation and deployment of the latest features.

Critical time-to-market needs

Whenever a BlueTraker equipped vessel is within reach of the GPRS signal all the necessary software maintenance tasks are run over the air. It removes the need for cables, computers or third-party programs and particularly for those costly visits to the vessel.

The implementation of the updates/upgrades is via our Cloud-based Telematic Data Aggregation Server (TDS) and the browser-based SecondScreen application. The TDS, in general, receives a variety of data/reports from vessels through the satellite or mobile network communication channel (bi-directional data exchange).

FOTA, on the other hand, is here to update terminal firmware over the GSM network. However, in case of urgency, Iridium satellite constellation can be used as well – a choice made by the SecondScreen operator.
